ABOUT sFI INNOVATION FORUM

A Note From the Graduate Program Director

The Innovation Forum is a chance for our students to showcase the hard work and creative projects they’ve completed in their journey through the Masters of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation. Each project is unique and the culmination of the skills, knowledge, curiosity and effort that they’ve put forward to become design thinkers, foresighters and futurists, and changemakers.

Please join us in exploring new ways of looking at the world and the complex challenges we face, and how we can turn these challenges into opportunities for change.
— Michele Mastroeni

The Innovation Forum is an annual event hosted by OCAD University’s Strategic Foresight and Innovation (SFI) Master of Design program. Held annually each spring, the forum showcases the culminating work of graduating students through thought-provoking research, forward-thinking design, and visionary strategy.

This year’s Innovation Forum takes place from May 14 to 16, 2025 at OCAD U’s Waterfront Campus (130 Queens Quay East, Toronto) and online, offering a hybrid experience that invites both local and global audiences to engage.

Over the course of three days, attendees are invited to explore a wide range of Major Research Projects (MRPs) addressing some of today’s most complex challenges such as climate resilience, smart technologies, equitable futures and social innovation. The event includes in-person presentations, virtual sessions, and concludes with TEDxOCADU, a special day of inspiring talks that challenge how we think about the future.
