Description: This research examines the opportunities and challenges in expanding the for-benefit business model across Canada, beyond its current legal recognition in British Columbia. Using a systemic design approach, the study explores regulatory frameworks, stakeholder perceptions, and economic and social impacts. The findings aim to inform policymakers, businesses, and investors on how to create a more supportive ecosystem for for-benefit enterprises, fostering sustainable and socially responsible economic growth.
Nadia Tabassum is an experienced marketing leader with over a decade of expertise across the beauty, wellness, and consumer goods sectors. She has worked with leading global brands like Unilever, Marico Limited, and Grameenphone, driving innovation, strategy, and sales across diverse markets. Nadia most recently served as Marketing Director for Unilever Bangladesh, where she led the Beauty & Wellbeing business, focusing on digital transformation and premiumization strategies. She has extensive experience in managing iconic skincare brands, overseeing long-term strategic planning, P&L management, and leading cross-functional teams. Nadia is also passionate about sustainability, having spearheaded initiatives like Aastha, a project improving the lives of over 1 million RMG workers in Bangladesh. Now pursuing a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at OCAD University, she aims to integrate her business acumen with future-focused methodologies to drive positive community impact.
