Project: From Waste to Worth: Reimagining Toronto’s Quick-Service Sector through Foresight

Zareen Tse is a strategic designer and foresight researcher with global experience spanning Asia and North America. Her work focuses on digital transformation, user-centered innovation, and sustainable futures. In her Master’s research, she developed the Food-as-a-Service (FaaS) framework to help Toronto’s Quick Service Food Establishments (QSFE) adopt circular practices through AI, IoT, and blockchain. Grounded in systems thinking and Dator’s Four Futures, her work bridges speculative futures with actionable design strategies. Zareen’s practice integrates intelligent technologies, stakeholder co-creation, and human experience to reimagine urban food systems that are regenerative, inclusive, and future-ready.
